Christmas Bird Counts

The Christmas Bird Count is a Citizen Science Program that is going on its 118th year. Each count area takes place in an established 15-mile wide diameter circle, and is organized by a count compiler. Count volunteers follow specified routes within the designated circle, counting every bird they see and hear throughout the day. It's not just a species tally, but all birds are counted giving an indication of the total number of birds residing within their count circle that day.

Birding Trip to Plum Island (Parker River National Wildlife Area)
